In reading a Phoenix Preacher blog exchange concerning homosexuality this weekend, I observed the same tired tactics used to shame Christians to accept the life style and choices that the homosexuals have found for themselves.  Strangely enough a blogger-homosexual ally took the lead and drove home the points for the homosexual agenda. The propoganda line is that  what they do in private is personal, private and Christians are basically judgmental and mean spirited toward these tender flesh and blood people who by no fault of their own are born this way. Now, don't you feel guilty?

Well, no I don't and here is why:

Persuading Christians is done by making them feel guilty for persecuting homosexuals and being intolerant of the homosexual private life.  The debate usually hinges on the distorted facts that the homosexual was born that way, this would absolve the homosexual from being who he/she because the One who made him/her is to blame for this condition.  How then can God make anything bad? Obviously since God is good what he made as homosexual has to be good too, so the argument goes. The argument continues to contend that the homosexual is wired at birth to have a propensity to feel sexually attracted to those of his/her same sex, how can you blame a tender innocent baby in a crib for what he was made to be?   Anyone who knows their Bible knows is that homosexuality is at the end of a progressive downward spiral. We also know that the spiral can start from any sinner and that includes each and every one of us. 

Here is my appeal to Christians. Read your Bible and from its authority draw the truth to live by from that and not what your attitude  or feelings will tell you about homosexuality.

Examine the passage from the New Testament of Romans 1:24-28 

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,  because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;  and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
We must first undersand that the Bible teaches that we are conceived with a nature that is opposed to God  but who in His mercy changes our very nature to seek Him and veer from the course of destruction. We all have the nature to sin and that sin will continue to grow unchecked.  If the sin is encouraged then we can glean further from the preceding passages to mean that God abandons people that are hell bent to do what they want and after one thing leads to the other we see the fruition of the debased mind giving rise to homosexuality.  It is a process as the Bible teaches. No one wakes up one day in the crib and becomes a homosexual. Homosexuality being the result of debased mind. The rebellious act that defies God and causes Him to give up on this sort of passion as they continue to become more and more debased in their own minds.

 The two prong attack of guilt producing and faulty logic leaves the average Christian compromising on the basis of not showing the love of Christ to these "poor maligned homosexual individuals" that are merely trying to live a quiet peaceful life. The homosexual argument  then follows that after all,   through no fault of their own have chosen this way due to their natural inclinations they were born with.  Simply stated; God made me this way and its his fault for all the trouble I'm having to deal with for my homosexuality which is perfectly "natural".

It therefore logically follows that homosexuals should be married just like heterosexuals are and should be given all the rights and privileges that accompany their marriage vows to one another. This would include the raising of children and the acceptance of their union by all in society. If the Christian objects it is only because of his/her homophobia and intolerance in a free society toward people merely different.  Furthermore the argument cascades to accuse the  Christian that objects to homosexual unions as a bigot on par with the racist and Nazis that Christians are used frequently compared with.

To say that Christians are attacking the homosexual community for objecting to  their wishes is simply untrue. When it comes to a homosexual union they want to call it marriage.  This is a perversion of the definition of marriage. What is true is that God made marriage. A marriage where a female bears, nurtures her children and loves and honor her husband. That male husband is to protect and head the household while loving his wife as himself. Ideally this is the definition for God's invention of marriage. Of course this is not always ideal but it is not a reason to invent a new definition of marriage . The fake marriage that the homosexual wants is one that redefines the roles and purposely leaves out one of the genders for purely selfish reasons. By definition this is a fraudulent and false. it just cannot be true.

To bring up children in these man made marriages is simply child abuse that denies a child a rightful parent whether it is a real father or a real mother.  Instead they want to legally adopt a child and selfishly exploit that child by giving him/her two mothers or two fathers and pretending it is a marriage with a real father and real mother, this can only warp a child's mind for what is a fraud. Faux marriages are only an example of the decay of our culture and the Christians that object are injecting salt that stings the homosexual by decrying their selfish ambitions to force an agenda that is against God.
